b'Curriculum DesignA college-preparatory curriculum is required of all students with an accelerated program offered to students meeting the necessary criteria. Honors level courses are offered in English, Math, Science, Social Studies and Foreign Language, as well as Advanced Placement courses in English, Math, Science, Social Studies and Fine Arts. Dual Enrollment courses are offered to both college-prep and honors students in College Algebra, CollegeTrigonometry,EnglishComposition,Psychology, Sociology, TV Production and Music Appreciation through LSUandSLU,andEngineeringthroughtheUniversityof Texas at Austin.Students complete eight courses per year allowing them to select more electives from SSAs varied and dynamic program of offerings,resulting in a well-rounded educational background with a total of 32 credits for grades 9 - 12 (4-year program of studies) or 36 credits for grades 8 - 12 (5-year program of studies).Additionally, SSA follows a rotating schedule in which five classes meet per day each for a 75-minute block of time allowing for a more, in-depth, hands-on teaching experience that educators have determined often results not only in increased student achievement, but also greater retention of learning material.'
