b'Angelus Hall Blessing and DedicationThe SSA student body celebrated the blessing and dedication of Angelus Hall in October 2019.Angelus Hall is a $3.2 million dollar, two-story building that houses eight classrooms for math and theology, a science lab, a TV production studio, and a yearbook studio/Mac lab. Classes housed in Angelus Hall combine faith and science, allowing for collaboration between disciplines.All of these spaces offer state-of-the-art technology and equipment to our students, giving them tremendous opportunities to grow and learn.We were honored to have Archbishop of New Orleans Gregory Aymond celebrate this day with us.He gave the most beautiful blessing and address to the students.This most recent addition to the SSA cam-pus was made possible by three funding sources.The Archdiocese of New Orleans contributed $1.5 million dollars.Dr. Patricia Williams and Dr. Katherine Williams Devier, grandmother and mother respectively of WXYHIRX\x03)PMWI\x03(IZMIV\x10\x03[IVI\x03VWX\x03XS\x03REQI\x03E\x03GPEWWVSSQ\x03\x11\x03XLI\x03RI[\x03WGMIRGI\x03lab. Finally, present and past donors to the Academy closed the gap. The building was named Angelus Hall to honor the Blessed Mother for her Fiat or Yes to God. The Angelus celebrates the Incarnation of our Lord Jesus Christ and is prayed daily by the students of the Acad-emy. The tradition of ringing a bell when the Angelus is prayed dates back to 1061. The ringing of the Angelus Bell is a call to prayer and to spread goodwill to everyone.Our chapel bell is rung each day as the students of the Academy recite the Angelus.It is a constant reminder of Marys Fiat and our call to say Yes and to spread goodwill.TheAngelusThe angel of the Lord declared unto Mary.R.
